American Jazz Museum presents Education Programs

Each year, the American Jazz Museum presents several different education initiatives as part of its core programming.  These programs aims to elevate the level of awareness & appreciation with its diverse range of audiences for jazz and its contributions to history, culture and society.

We provide countless opportunities for aspiring students and young musicians to not only interact with the world-renowned jazz masters and local jazz talent that come into our venues to perform - but also with each other, further nurturing their understanding, appreciation and respect for the diverse range of people and cultures that create jazz.  All of our programs provide a unique educational platform for the thousands of students that visit us each year.

By studying, learning, exploring and interacting with their peers, our staff, gifted instructors, mentors and some of the world's greatest musicians that contribute to our programs, they are participating in life-enriching experiences that continue to reinforce the worldwide belief that that music and the arts provide a positive impact on our communities and our youth.  Support of these programs makes it possible for countless students each year to grow as individuals, become more engaged in their communities and serve as the next generation of ambassadors for music and the arts.

Education programs at the American Jazz Museum are generously supported by the Martha Lee Cain Tranby Music Enrichment Trust, Francis Family Foundation, Hall Family Foundation, Sprint, Macy's, NTDF, National Endowment for the Arts, Missouri Arts Council, ArtsKC and the Black Community Fund.
